Most people discover PlayToPromote with the same question: "Wait, so I play a game, and if I win, people visit my website?" That's exactly right. But the simplicity of that sentence hides a surprisingly deep platform that thousands of creators, small business owners, and gamers use every day to grow their online presence without spending money on ads.
The core idea
PlayToPromote works on a single principle: attention is valuable, and competitive games are a fair way to decide who gets it. Before every match, each player submits a promotional link — their YouTube channel, their online store, their social media profile, their music, anything they want the world to see. Then they compete in one of the platform's games.
When the match ends, the loser's browser is redirected to the winner's promotional link. It opens in the same tab, as a real visit, counted by analytics tools, visible to the destination website. The winner gets genuine traffic earned through skill. The loser agreed to this when they started playing — it's the entry fee for a free platform.
Why it works
Traditional advertising works by paying to interrupt people. You buy a banner ad, and it appears in front of someone who didn't ask to see it. They often ignore it, scroll past it, or block it. The conversion rates for digital advertising have been declining for years because users have learned to tune it out.
PlayToPromote works differently. Players actively choose to compete, which means they're already engaged and present when the promotional redirect happens. They've just finished a match — they're in a focused, active mindset, not passively scrolling. The visit to the winner's link happens in the context of a genuine interaction, not an interruption. That makes it more memorable and more likely to lead to real engagement with whatever the winner is promoting.
Is it really free?
Yes — completely free to play, forever. Free accounts can promote one link per win. Premium accounts (€7.99/month) can rotate up to three links, display no ads, and receive priority matchmaking. But the core mechanic — playing games to earn exposure — is available to everyone at no cost.
The platform sustains itself through Premium subscriptions and Google AdSense ads shown to free-tier users. Neither of these affects gameplay fairness.
What games are available?
PlayToPromote currently hosts eight games across several genres: a 1v1 fighting game, two platformer racers, a match-3 puzzle hybrid, a slot machine defense game, a multi-player battle arena, a competitive Snake duel, and a strategic Tic-Tac-Toe variant. New games are added regularly.
Getting started
Sign in with your Google or GitHub account, add your promotional link in the Dashboard, then head to the Arena to find a match. Most games find an opponent within 30–60 seconds. Your first win will earn your first promotional visit — it takes less than five minutes from signup to first exposure.
